Privacy policy: GrimTabs

Chrome extension by Lisa Moody (SkullBirdDev). Last updated: 28 October 2026.

GrimTabs is a notes and task board in Chrome's side panel. It keeps your notes in sections (Do not forget, To do, Started, Finished and Personal notes), with items, checklists, reminders, an archive and backups.

In short: I do not collect, store or see any of your information. Everything you put in GrimTabs stays in your own Chrome profile.

Information I collect

None. GrimTabs has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no tracking and no advertising. It does not send anything to me, and I have no server that receives data from it.

Information stored in your Chrome profile

GrimTabs saves the following in Chrome's own extension storage so your board is there when you come back:

I cannot see any of this. You can delete notes inside GrimTabs at any time, and removing the extension from Chrome deletes everything it stored.

Saving a web page

When you press "Save this page" or "Add this page", GrimTabs reads the title and address of the tab you are on and saves them into your note. This only happens when you press one of those buttons. GrimTabs does not read any other tab, does not read the content of pages and does not keep a browsing history.

Reminders

Reminders are scheduled by Chrome on your computer and shown as Chrome notifications. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Backups and spreadsheet exports

Back up to a file and Export to a spreadsheet save a file to your own computer. GrimTabs does not upload these files anywhere.

Sharing and selling

I do not sell, rent, share or transfer any user data, and I do not use any data for advertising, profiling, credit checks or anything unrelated to the extension's features.

Permissions the extension uses

Changes to this policy

If the extension's handling of data changes, I will update this page and the date at the top.
